Month-by-Month

The object I will use the most in order to keep up with my schedule is the calendar that our teacher suggested it is really easy to use and it is easy for me to put my plans.

Goals for my senior year

Some of the goals that I have determined myself to do are

• Get my GPA to a 3.9 if possible and I am willing and determined to do it.
• Apply for the schools I am really interested in or are my top 3 choices.
• Be able to get as much help or money for school as I can so I can e able to study.
• Be able to pass all my classes with all A's and 2 B's.
• Make my mom happy on graduation day because she has been through a lot in order for me to graduate.

Some scholarships that I'm going to apply to are

Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

•     The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to 250 high school seniors each year.
•  Fifty of these are four-year, $20,000 scholarships ($5,000 per year for four years), while 200 are designated as four-year, $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year for four years).
•         The scholarships must be used at an accredited U.S. college or university. 
•         A CURRENT high school or home-school senior anticipating graduation from a school or program in the United States during the academic year in which application is made
•      U.S. Citizen; U.S. National; U.S. Permanent Resident; Temporary Resident (legalization program)

•      Carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of your junior year of high school
•      Deadline of Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship- Oct 31, 2013

Dell Scholars Program

·         The Dell Scholars Program is offered to those high school students participating in an approved AVID program. The funding for each Dell Scholar is substantial - $20,000. The value of these 250 scholarships equals $5 million.

·         To be eligible to apply for the Dell Scholars Program scholarship, you must meet the below listed criteria:
- Graduating from an accredited high school this academic year
- Earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA
- Demonstrated need for financial assistance
- Participating in a MSDF approved college readiness program for a minimum of two years
- Planning to enter a bachelor's degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency

Ronald McDonald House Charities HACER Scholarship Program

• Currently enrolled high school seniors who have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage and who are eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school with a complete course of study.
• Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, be less than 21 years of age and reside within the geographic boundaries of a participating Chapter that offers a scholarship under the HACER program.
• Scholarship recipients must enroll in and attend a two or four-year accredited college or university or vocational/technical school in the academic year following their selection. Verification of enrollment is required.

Some of the careers that I'm very interested in are the following:

Professional Pilot (B.S.)

1. Each student graduating with a Professional Pilot Concentration of the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Sciences degree will have flying qualifications to the Commercial Pilot level (including an instrument rating), along with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate.
2. Tuitions for this degree is very expensive it cost from 100,000 to 140,000 for 4 years of study
3. Salary- 150,000 for 3-4 years of experience

Accountant

1. Accounting prepares students for a wide variety of professional opportunities, including positions in public and corporate accounting for businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

5. Public accounting governmental accounting private/industrial accounting public accounting is the most popular and includes positions in auditing, tax, and management advisory services.

Aerospace Engineering

• Aerospace engineering is concerned with the design, construction, and science of aircraft and spacecraft.
• Graduates will be successful in their professional careers, including industry, government service, and academia, in their State and beyond.

Some outcomes that students have by studying this is

• Ability to apply knowledge of basic science (chemistry, physics)
• Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles

Colleges

On this college research a lot of schools caught my attention but I was very interested in three universities which were Letourneau University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott or Florida), and Saint Louis University.

·        Letourneau University

• Application forms (including special, dual enrollment, former) available to download

• Mail your SAT and/or ACT scores to Admissions, PO Box 7001, Longview, TX 75607
• Use school code 6365 for the SAT and school code 4120 for the ACT.
• Submit SAT or ACT writing scores to help with English placement. (We won't use them for admissions decisions.)
• Send us AP and CLEP scores.  Click here to see which tests we accept.o   Accepted students must: Pay a $100 Housing Fee and $100 Tuition Deposit. Both may be paid online. Submit a Housing Application in order to reserve a place in the entering class. If you are a commuter student, fill out the Off-Campus Petition
• In this case I would absolutely attend this university not only for the experience   but the way they train their students with high tech equipment and is the top school where airlines get their pilots.

·        Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott or Florida)

• Embry-Riddle considers all aspects of a student’s qualifications. This includes the following: Student's academic performance in high schoolo   Rigor of the high school academic programo   SAT 1000 and/or ACT 21o   300-500 word essayo   School counselor or teacher recommendationso   University expects all applicants, at minimum, to have completed by high school graduation the following course work:o   Four years of English
• Three years of mathematics, including Algebra I or Applied Math I & II, Formal Logic or Geometry
• Two years of history or social science
• Two years of science in at least two different areas, with at least one lab experience

·     Saint Louis University

• This is the premier institution to learn the technical specifications of becoming a pilot as well as develop as a leader.
• Students not only learn how to be proficient in the practice of a particular skill such as flying, but also to be formed so as to make ethical decisions and to contribute toward the advancement of one’s personal and professional goals.
• Graduates of our aviation science degree program will earn the following FAA certificates and ratings:  private pilot certificate, instrument rating, and commercial pilot certificate with single and multi-engine ratings
• Students are strongly encouraged to present five academic courses for each of their four years of high school academic courses should include: Four years each of English and mathematics
• Three years each of foreign language, natural sciences, social sciences and academic electives
• College admission test scores (ACT or SAT) are used as an additional indicator of the student's ability to meet the academic rigors of Saint Louis University and are used as qualifiers for certain University scholarship programs.
• I would attend this school because is a good school with wonderful teachers and the school gives its students a set ammount of time where they can study for their classes.
